This handy tool will let you remove and insert the seal without removing the tranny pan or in most cases without even lowering the transmission. The tool goes over the shaft, threads onto the leaky seal (counterclockwise) engaging the seal with the tool LH threads, then with the hex bolt turned the seal is efficiently removed intact. The new seal is put over the shifter shaft and with the dowel tool pushed into place completing the installation.
