Red flying lizards are apart of the genus Draco, and are also are known as flying dragons. These lizards are well known for their ability to glide long distances using their wing-like membranes supported by elongated thoracic ribs to generate lift forces. While not capable of powered flight they often obtain lift in the course of their gliding flights that can take them from distances up to 200 feet. Flying Lizards only venture to the ground when a female is ready to lay her legs. She descends the tree she is on to make a nest hole by shoving her head into soil. After guarding her eggs for 24 hours, she leaves and never again has contact with her offspring. • You will receive a specimen similar to the one pictured • Approximately 7-8" (tail included)
