It all began when a friend of ours returned to her native Brazil and couldn't find any natural tampons and pads. As serial entrepreneurs always on the lookout for the next big opportunity, we started strategizing ways to break into the Brazilian market. We never dreamed we'd be jumping headfirst into the world of feminine hygiene. We soon found that these products were also in short supply-and with a much higher price tag-in the U.S. and elsewhere. As we learned more about the health risks of synthetic feminine products, we set out to change all that.
