L-Leucine is a type of amino acid which is derived from reactions taking place between pancreatic enzymes and protein. Adults need leucine to keep nitrogen balanced in their systems while children need it to keep up satisfactory rates of growth. Valine, leucine, and isoleucine make up one of the chains called BCAAÆs or branch chain amino acids. They make up a large amount of the bodyÆs total protein structure.
