BEADSMITH-Vintaj: Dappling Block. This wood Dappling Block is ideal for creating domed and shaped metal pieces. Simply place a metal blank into a depression then use a punch tool and a hammer to give it a convex shape. The block has overall dimensions of 2-1/4x 2-1/4x2-1/4 inches and there are six depressions each with a different depth and size. Two wood punch tools are included-- each measures 4 inches long and will not mar or scratch the metal surface. Complete package contents include one wood doming block and two wood punch tools. - BLOCK: The hardwood cube is finished with a smooth surface and measures 2.25 inches (57mm). There are six hemispherical depressions of different sizes, one on each side. The dome diameters range from approximately 1.13” (29mm) to about 1.56” (40mm).
- PUNCHES: Both wood punches measure 3.75” (95mm) in length. The narrower tip is 0.5” (13mm) and the wider is 0.7” (18mm). Use the punches with a hammer to gently tap your metal piece into the spheres to create the shape or design you want for your project.
