Lean thinking is valuable for the management and execution of school business, finance and operations. In fact, lean has the potential to dramatically transform the way that schools do business. This book walks readers through a personal account of a school business official’s journey into lean transformation. From practical and theoretical perspectives the authors describe the philosophy and tools of lean that were used to solve real and pressing school business problems. Five stories of business, financial and operational problems and the lean problem solving methods used to tackle these challenges are shared. Each story is then outlined as to how the paradigms and processes of this school district were improved through lean.
